Most people know me as a world class sales trainer, corporate coach, creator of the “Salesology” program and investor. This site is not about any of those things. This site is about my personal, authentic and transparent growth. It’s about lessons learned and those which are still in process. It's about my new way of Being. Jay 2.0!
Flipping to BE-DO-HAVE
I’ve been a successful entrepreneur and business owner for over 20 years before I “created” this last life hiccup (Which I refer to as a lesson.) I had created a great lifestyle, generated high revenue streams and had a lot of fun! Hell, I even lost over $200,000 on the game show "Deal or No Deal” and still had fun. I had fortune 500 clients I loved and they loved me. My speaking, consulting and training dates were booked 12 months out. I was the quintessential road warrior. So what’s the problem, you ask?
To quote my boy Billy Shakespeare, “All that glisters (glitters) is not gold!”
I hit the wall! I was way too busy to notice I was unhappy. (aaww…Stop with the finger violins) Seriously, unbalanced success can be draining and can lead to failure in other areas of one’s life. (DMX, Lindsey Lohan, and countless others) I was DOING (efforting to exhaustion, no flow) to BE (something less than what I was…) to HAVE (shit that wasn't all that important) If you don't get that, please read my post "Pain Has A Purpose"!
But There were clues – My youngest & college Junior, Alexandria, told me her friends would laugh and call me the "computer dad" because I would show up to her events with my laptop. She reminds me that I was always there but NEVER present. Ouch!
Then came the perfect shit storm of “lessons”. My mistress Iris (What I call the IRS) came knocking, my real estate investments sucked…BAD, and add a nasty divorce process to the mix. There’s more but you get the picture.
That brings me to the selfish reason for this site. The Do Over. (…and my coach made me do it)
Be – Do – Have, Plus Feeling Good Along The Way. Happy!
My incredible coach gave me this blog exercise as an assignment to hold myself accountable to truly BEing authentic and present while rebuilding my success DOing what I love and HAV(E)ing it all with a sense of spiritual growth & joy throughout the process. I'll be attacking everything from health & fitness to food & wine. I have a long list of fun!
I'm in no hurry. I'm dropping that "need for control" albatross. It's no longer about superficial friendships; it's now about Spiritual Partnerships. (Romantic or platonic) It's no longer about struggle; It's about being in my flow. It goes back to the old saying, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life!". I'm a little late to that party, however, this is my commitment to not only do what I love, but to do it out of love. For me, that's BEing a Life Enthusiast.
Check out my new projects page when you have time. I'm loving my new Leeds, UK client.
